And in Richfield, one of the most decorated homes of all (especially at Halloween) is usually the Adams Family home! Their beautiful victorian home — originally built in 1889, with several additions — is always striking. But when it’s home to dozens of lighted, moving, frightening creatures it’s even more so! Their holiday decorating tradition orignally began with a daycare center they owned, and when they closed it, decided to decorate their home (and make sure they always had trick-or-treaters!). Richfield was first settled in 1864. The first home was a dugout – basically, a hole in the ground. Only 37 years later, in 1901, this home was built. Built of brick with local, hand-carved sandstone accents, this is one of many such “Folk Victorian” homes found throughout Richfield. Not many are as well kept as this one!
