H1N1 Swine Flu now in Central Utah

The Central Utah Health Department ahs issued the following statement about the H1N1 Virus (“Swine Flu”) here in Central Utah.

Central utah public health district confirms cases of H1N1
(Richfield, UT) – Central Utah Public Health District has three (3) confirmed cases of Novel Influenza H1N1 in Millard County, one adult and two children. Two of the three cases have recovered, and the third case is recovering well.Central Utah Public Health Department (CUPHD) met with key community leaders in Millard County and are continuing to work with them to determine the best course of action. At this time, no schools will be closed, nor will any public gatherings be cancelled.
There are no probable nor confirmed cases in any of the other five (5) counties CUPHD serves, including Juab, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier, and Wayne.
CUPHD encourages everyone to continue to wash their hands frequently, cover their cough, and stay home if sick. If anyone has severe flu-like symptoms including a fever above 100, they are encouraged to see a physician.
It’s also important for individuals to realize the swine flu virus is not transmitted by food and that you cannot get swine flu from eating pork products.
